To ensure that criminal offences are prosecuted
in a consistent and timely manner; that Government, its affiliated bodies, statutory
boards and corporations receive professional and quality legal services together
with sound legal advice,; that legislation, as required by Government Ministries
and portfolios is drafted and revised in a timely manner.
To provide legal advice and services to the Government,
statutory authorities and the Cayman Mutual Legal Assistance Authority; to conduct
civil and criminal litigation and to provide legal education in the Cayman Islands.
1. To form a resource centre through accommodation of the Law School, Legal
Department, Legislative Drafting and Law Revision for law in the same premises.
2. To improve international criminal co-operation and legal assistance.
3. To define and implement a programme of continuing legal education.
4. To integrate legislative drafting, law revision and law reform.
